Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Peter Kox lead the title chase in the ADAC GT Masters

LAMBORGHINI SHOWS UNSTOPPABLE SPEED AT LAUSITZRING

Media information: 17 August 2010

The Lamborghini-equipped Reiter Engineering team dominated rounds nine and 10 of the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring, Germany, on 13-15 August 2010 by claiming both pole positions and a double victory. Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Peter Kox finished on top in every session of the weekend in the #24 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 to open a commanding lead in the Drivers' Championship.

Reiter Engineering proved to be the team to beat from the offset, recording the best times in both practice sessions despite running on used tyres. In Friday's first qualifying session, German driver von Thurn und Taxis set the fastest lap time of 1:21.628 to claim his second pole position of the season. Dutch pilot Kox topped the timesheets in qualifying two with a fastest lap of 1:21.670, over three tenths of a second clear of the competition, allowing the pair to start both races at the front.

Round nine got off to a challenging start as heavy rain left the track wet and slippery. In the difficult conditions von Thurn und Taxis managed to keep the Porsche of Sebastian Asch behind in the opening stages and pulled away from the pursuing pack to gain a 10-second gap before handing over his team-mate Kox. The Dutch driver stayed in the lead and crossed the finish line first, nine seconds ahead of Audi R8 drivers Christopher Mies and Jens Klingmann in second and third.

The Reiter Engineering pair maintained its dominant form while the weather conditions improved for Sunday's round 10. Kox started the race behind the wheel of the 560 hp Lamborghini Gallardo first and stayed ahead the Porsche, BMW and Audi challengers. The former 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner pitted in the lead, allowing von Thurn und Taxis to continue the victorious charge. The German, self-proclaimed 'Lamborghinista at heart', pushed hard in the closing stages as Porsche driver Tim Bergmeister challenged him for the lead. Von Thurn und Taxis defended well on his way to the chequered flag to claim the team's fourth victory of the season, with Bergmeister's Porsche and Toni Selier's Corvette rounding out the podium places.

Kox and von Thurn und Taxis are jointly leading the Drivers' Championship with 63 points and have strengthened their title challenge by increasing the gap to 16 points ahead of the
second-place duo of Ludwig and Mies. Reiter Engineering's superb performance over the weekend elevated the German squad to the top of the Teams' Championship, tied with Abt Sportline, on 65 points despite only collecting points with one car, while other teams score points after two. Von Thurn und Taxis set a new series record by finishing on the podium for the 20th time in the history of the championship. Reiter Engineering holds the record for the most series race wins with 17, while the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 has secured 19 victories to date, more than any other race car since the ADAC GT Masters was launched in 2007.

"It's a fantastic feeling to achieve this result," said Hans Reiter, Team Principal of Reiter Engineering. "The competition is very strong: we were up against two teams who also compete in DTM but we defeated them. We have gained a lot of experience from racing with Lamborghini cars in different series and this has benefited us. Our drivers Albert and Peter made no mistakes and we had the best driver pairing of all the teams at Lausitz."

Rounds 11 and 12 of the ADAC GT Masters will take place at the Nürburgring, Germany, on 29 August, partnering the FIA GT1 World Championship.

Lamborghini drivers setting the pace at Spa-Francorchamps

LAMBORGHINI TAKES ON NÜRBURGRING AFTER SERIES OF VICTORIES

Media information: 24 August 2010

Following a streak of wins in the past weeks, the raging bulls are on their way to the historic Nürburgring, Germany, for the next rounds of the FIA GT1 World Championship and the ADAC GT Masters on 26-29 August. Former Formula One driver Ricardo Zonta and Frank Kechele will get back behind the wheel of the #25 Lamborghini Murciélago 670 R-SV after securing the GT1 victory in Spa-Francorchamps three weeks ago. Meanwhile, Peter Kox and Albert von Thurn und Taxis are looking to extend their lead in the ADAC GT Masters Drivers' Championship after claiming a double victory at the Lausitzring in the #24 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4.

The Reiter Engineering duo of Kechele and Zonta charged to Lamborghini's first victory in the FIA GT1 World Championship in a thrilling race at Spa, elevating them to fourth and sixth respectively in the Drivers' Championship. The Lamborghini drivers will again compete against the likes of Maserati, Corvette and Aston Martin for GT1 honours, when the series travels to the Nürburgring for round six of the championship.

"I haven't raced in Europe since I was involved with Formula One, so to be winning races again after just three weekends is a fantastic feeling," said Zonta. "The Reiter Engineering team were all very excited and the victory was really motivational for the team. We will definitely be more determined for the next race weekend and I think that we can improve the car even further to give us an even greater chance of repeating the result."

The second Reiter Engineering car, the #24 Lamborghini Murciélago 670 R-SV, will be driven by former 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Peter Kox and FIA GT3 European Champion Christopher Haase. After the Spa round Kox and Haase travelled to Malaysia, where they raced their Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 to victory in the 12-hour Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race (MMER) in Sepang. Now, the pair are back in Europe and are as eager as ever to get back to World Championship action.

The other Lamborghini team in the FIA GT1 World Championship, All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport, will also field a double entry for the event, with Nicky Pastorelli and Dominik Schwager racing the #37 Murciélago, while Marc Basseng and Christophe Bouchut will pilot the #38 entry.

Also taking place at the Nürburgring are rounds 11 and 12 of the ADAC GT Masters series, where Kox and team-mate Albert von Thurn und Taxis are leading the Drivers' Championship following their dominant performance at the latest event. The Reiter Engineering pair claimed the top spot in every session and secured a double victory at the Lausitzring. Kox and von Thurn und Taxis will have to push their Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 to the limit to extend their lead in the Drivers' Championship as they will carry the maximum success ballast of 50 kg at the Nürburgring. Meanwhile Reiter Engineering is hoping to cement its top position in the Teams' Championship, which it currently shares with Abt Sportline.

Round six of the FIA GT1 World Championship will begin at 15:15 (CET) on Sunday 29 August, while rounds 11 and 12 of the ADAC GT Masters will take place at 12:00 (CET) on Saturday 28 August and 12:00 (CET) on Sunday 29 August.

Kox charges into the lead at the start of round 15

KOX AND HAYEK VICTORIOUS IN HUNGARY

Media information: 23 August 2010

In the searing Hungarian heat, Peter Kox and Marc A. Hayek returned to
race-winning form at the penultimate 2010 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race weekend at the Hungaroring on 21-22 August 2010. The Blancpain Reiter Engineering duo secured victories in both rounds 14 and 15 to close the gap between them and their title rivals in the Pro and Pro-Am Drivers' Standings.

Also taking part in the series this weekend were Hungarian FIA World Touring Car Championship driver Norbert Michelisz and fellow countryman, GT3 driver Csaba Walter. Paired with Lamborghini test-driver Giorgio Sanna in the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP race car, Michelisz secured a best result of fourth during the weekend. Meanwhile, Walter drove with Belgian GT3 driver Stéphane Lemeret, claiming a fifth and a sixth place finish. Not only did Lemeret compete in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series, but both he and 2009 Super Trofeo Pro Drivers' Champion Fabio Babini also took part in the Le Mans Series endurance race.

The Super Trofeo series welcomed Czech gentleman driver Milan Urban for his maiden race weekend. Milan, who is Minister of Trade and Industry in the Czech Republic, drove the #77 Charouz-Gravity Racing car alongside his brother Jan. Competing together in the series for the first time, the Czech duo secured a top 10 finish.

Qualifying
Black Bull Swiss Racing topped the timesheets in qualifying for the second time this season when Mirko Venturi guided the #46 Lamborghini Super Trofeo race car around the Hungarian circuit in 1:50.878. VIP driver Michelisz set the second fastest lap time of 1:51.592 in the #1 Automobili Lamborghini car, while Ferruccio Bellini, driving for the Bonaldi Motorsport operation, completed the top trio in the #3 car with a fastest lap of 1:52.255.

Autovitesse Garage R. Affolter Suisse driver Nicolas Navarro secured the fourth place on the grid after setting a fastest lap of 1:52.345 in the #63, while Kox claimed the fifth spot with a 1:52.361.

"Everything went very well this morning," said pole-setter Venturi. "It is really important to start at the front at the Hungaroring, as it is a very demanding circuit. Babini and Kox did not represent a threat today and hopefully in race one we will prove to be the best!"

Round 13
Venturi's team-mate Tommaso Maino started on pole for round 13 but went wide at the first corner and spun, putting him back to sixth place. From eighth on the grid, Fabio Babini charged through in the #22 MIK Corse Super Trofeo to lead the pack out of the first corner. Babini continued to head the field with Sanna behind the wheel of the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car in pursuit.

On lap eight the pitlane opened for driver changes: Sanna pitted to hand over to Michelisz. Meanwhile, Babini was still out on track increasing his lead. The Italian driver entered the pits to pass over the #22 to team-mate Gian Luigi Piccioli, but Piccioli was unable to rejoin the track before the #63, piloted by Navarro, passed the pit exit for the lead.

Having rejoined in second place, Piccioli began to fall down the order. Bellini moved up to second and was defending from Venturi, who had taken over the #46 from Maino. Navarro took the chequered flag to secure Autovitesse Garage R. Affolter Suisse's maiden Super Trofeo victory. Behind, Bellini slipped down the field: Venturi passed for second place, while Piccioli got past at the penultimate corner for the last podium position.

"This is the first time we raced with this car and we have already secured a victory, so this is fantastic," said Navarro. "The car performed perfectly. During the race we tried to push as much as we could. I would like to say thanks to Cedric and the Autovitesse team for doing a great job. I dedicate this victory to Lionel Régal, who died last week during a race in Switzerland."

Nicolas Navarro and Cedric Leimer on the top step of the podium

Round 14
From pole, Cedric Leimer took the lead on the first lap, but lost out to Babini in the #22 on lap two. The MIK Corse driver led until lap six when he retired with a technical issue. Second-place man Sanna in the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car took the lead with Italian Pro-Am Eugenio Amos charging hard behind.

Following the pit-stops, it was Kox way out in front. The Dutch driver had received the #24 Blancpain Reiter Engineering Super Trofeo in sixth place after his team-mate Hayek had fought his way through from 12th on the grid, and Kox had worked his way through to the front.

Kox maintained his lead until the finish line, claiming the top step on the Super Trofeo podium for the third time this season. Amos finished second with Bellini securing a much-deserved third place. Michelisz claimed fourth in the #1 race car, while Lemeret put in a strong drive to secure a fifth-place finish.

"It's an excellent feeling, I am a little relieved that our bad luck has finally ended," said Hayek. "The boys at Blancpain Reiter Engineering worked incredibly hard until six in the morning to make the car perfect and they accomplished it."

Round 15
Kox led the final race of the weekend from the start. The 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner was followed by Amos in the #69 Super Trofeo race car and Sanna in the #1. The trio continued to lap the circuit in order until lap six when Sanna retired with a technical issue. In the #2 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car, Walter moved up to third place with Bellini behind.

At the mandatory pit-stops Kox handed over the #24 to team-mate Hayek, who continued to lead the race. Amos rejoined the field in second place, seven seconds behind a charging Hayek, with Venturi in the #46 charging through to third by lap 17.

In the closing laps, Amos reduced the gap to just a car's length, but was unable to make the final leap and get past the determined Hayek, who crossed the finish line first with Amos behind to claim his second victory of the weekend, while Venturi completed the podium.

"We had a very good start, then I tried to push hard to open a gap but it was a close race," said Kox. "Marc held Amos behind very well, I wasn't sure if we could make it to the end but we did and got the victory which is fantastic."

"When I took over from Peter I knew that it would be a very close fight with Amos," added Hayek. "I tried really hard and in the end it worked. I feel the improvement since last year and I hope to keep getting better as a driver!"

Following the three rounds in Hungary, Venturi continues to lead the Pro Drivers' Standings on 112 points, while Amos heads up the Pro-Am Drivers' Standings on 120 points. In the Teams' Standings Touringauto tops the leaderboard on 120 points.

The 2010 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series will conclude with the final three rounds at Vallelunga, Italy, on 24-26 September 2010.

Notes to editors

The 2010 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo season began in April featuring the Lamborghini Super Trofeo: a lightweight version of the Gallardo LP 560-4. The Super Trofeo has a reworked chassis and a power output of 419 kW (570 hp) from its V10, 'Iniezione Diretta Stratificata' engine. The race car features Lamborghini's permanent four-wheel drive, making the Super Trofeo the only one-make, all-wheel-drive motorsport series.

Lamborghini again partners with luxury Swiss watchmaker Blancpain, who is the series' title sponsor, creating a perfect partnership between two prestigious and highly-innovative brands. Its President and CEO, Marc A. Hayek, will get behind-the-wheel of a Super Trofeo following his successful 2009 race season, where he secured four race victories and finished second in the Pro-Am drivers' classification.

Pirelli, one of the world's largest tyre manufacturers and sole OEM supplier to Automobili Lamborghini, partners the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series. Pirelli, who have a successful motorsport heritage across rally, sports cars and Formula One, will be for the second season a strategic partner to the series. With a history built on high performance tyres, Pirelli is a world leader in both original equipment and the aftermarket, with 24 factories in 12 countries around the world.

KOX AND HAYEK STORM TO SUPER TROFEO POLE AT SPA

Media information: 29 July 2010

Having missed the last three rounds of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, Peter Kox made an impact on his return to the series on 29 July 2010 at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. The sportscar veteran stormed to pole position in the closing stages of qualifying to put the #24 Blancpain Reiter Engineering Super Trofeo race car at the head of the field for round 10 tomorrow.

In wet conditions Kox's team-mate Marc A. Hayek started qualifying and posted fast times, putting the #24 as high as third before handing over to team-mate Kox. With three minutes remaining of the 30-minute session, the Dutch driver delivered a flying lap of 2:47.902, putting the #24 Super Trofeo race car at the top of the timesheets. He then proceeded on another charging lap, bettering his lap time to 2:46.687 as the session finished.

Black Bull Swiss Racing's Mirko Venturi set the second fastest lap time of 2:48.542 in the #46 Super Trofeo race car. The Italian had knocked the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP driver Allard Kalff off the top spot with 13 minutes remaining. Dutch driver Kalff's fastest lap time of 2:49.016 was strong enough to put his team-mate and fellow countryman Rob Kamphues on the second row of the grid for the first race of the weekend, which takes place at 11:15 (CET) on Friday 30 July.

Current Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Pro Drivers' leader Fabio Babini set the fourth fastest lap time of 2:49.493 in the #22 MIK Corse race car, while #2 Automobili Lamborghini VIP driver John Barker completed the top five having lapped the historic circuit in 2:49.577.

"We started the season well in Hockenheim and we're hoping to continue that way here at Spa," said Kox. "It was a good session for us and Marc did a fantastic job, especially considering the difficulty of the track and the conditions."

Hayek added: "Spa is fantastic! It's probably the most interesting and most challenging track on the calendar. There is no room to try a different racing line: you have to get it right, and with the weather difficult to foresee, it is made even more of a challenge."

Round 10 of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo takes place tomorrow at 11:15 (CET), followed by round 11 at 16:30 (CET). For live updates during each session follow the series at www.twitter.com/Super_Trofeo.

The Super Trofeo race cars will return to Spa-Francorchamps
for more wheel-to-wheel racing

BULLS TO TAME INFAMOUS SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS

Media information: 26 July 2010

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series will travel to the historic circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on 29-31 July 2010, for rounds 10, 11 and 12. As the second half of an ultra competitive season begins, Super Trofeo entrants will be pushing their 570 hp four-wheel drive Lamborghini Super Trofeo race cars to the limit on the Belgian track in an attempt to secure as many points as possible.

Among those taking on the challenge of Spa-Francorchamps will be former Formula 3000 and Dutch Touring Car Championship driver Allard Kalff. The Dutch RTL Formula One commentator will be joined by Volkswagen Endurance Cup Netherlands race winner and fellow countryman Rob Kamphues, who writes for Dutch racing website Autosport.nl. Meanwhile, the #2 Automobili Lamborghini VIP race car will be guided around the
highly-prestigious circuit by EVO UK journalists Roger Green and John Barker.

After securing three Super Trofeo victories in the #22 MIK Corse race car at Paul Ricard HTTT, reigning Pro Drivers' Champion Fabio Babini leads the 2010 Pro Drivers' Standings with 57 points. The Italian stormed to a Super Trofeo race victory at the iconic circuit in 2009 and will be hoping to repeat this feat in order to fend off a hard-charging Mirko Venturi, who is just nine points behind in second place. Having missed the Paul Ricard rounds, Dutch driver Peter Kox is currently running in third place with 42 points, and will resume his title challenge.

Pro-Am Drivers' Standings leader Eugenio Amos is an entrant that lives, works and plays Lamborghini: in addition to working as Sales Manager for Lamborghini Centro Milano during the week, the Italian gets behind the wheel of the #69 Touringauto Lamborghini race car in his spare time. His weekend escapades in the Super Trofeo series have accrued him 62 points, putting him just six points ahead of his closest competitor, Bonaldi Motorsport driver Ferruccio Bellini. Babini's Paul Ricard team-mate Albert von Thurn und Taxis rounds out the top three Pro-Am drivers with a total of 45 points. In the Teams' Standings, Touringauto leads with 62 points, only two points ahead of 2009 Teams' Champion MIK Corse on 60, while Bonaldi Motorsport is third with 56.

"The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is definitely one of the world's most challenging circuits, comparable to the old Nürburgring," said Manfred Fitzgerald, Director of Brand and Design at Automobili Lamborghini. "The level of competition is really stunning: we have a good mix of Pro and
Pro-Am drivers, which makes the perfect combination for spectacular racing. Spa is a demanding circuit, which will suit the Super Trofeo well: it is a track that divides boys from men."

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo will support the FIA GT1 World Championship at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, with drivers competing in three 40-minute races and a 30-minute qualifying session during the three-day event.

The Super Trofeo race cars will take to the high-tech test track this weekend

WORLD'S FASTEST ONE-MAKE SERIES RETURNS TO PAUL RICARD

Media information: 30 June 2010

The 2010 season of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series will continue with a star-studded line-up for rounds seven, eight and nine, as the world's fastest one-make series returns to Paul Ricard HTTT, France, on 3-4 July 2010.

Four new drivers will get behind the wheel of the 570 hp, four-wheel drive VIP Super Trofeo race cars. The #1 Automobili Lamborghini car will be raced by former Formula One driver Stefan Johansson and 24 Hours of Spa class winner Peter Wyss. Johansson raced in F1 between 1983 and 1991 for Tyrell, Ferrari and McLaren, finishing fifth overall in 1986 before claiming victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1997. His Lamborghini co-driver Wyss, Senior Editor for Swiss Magazine Automobil Revue, also has an impressive endurance racing record, claiming the GT3 class victory at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2004 and 2009.

With World Cup fever high, Lamborghini also has something in store for football fans this weekend: the #2 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car will be piloted by France's former goalkeeper Fabien Barthez, who helped the French national team to victory in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 UEFA European Football Championship. Barthez will be partnered by two-time French Porsche Carrera Cup Champion Anthony Beltoise.

"The series continues to grow in strength, illustrated by our driver line-up," said Automobili Lamborghini's Director of Brand and Design, Manfred Fitzgerald. "The Paul Ricard circuit is one of most technologically advanced tracks in Europe, and is a natural fit with Lamborghini, which prides itself on continuously pushing boundaries. It is a very demanding track so will be an equally exciting challenge for both Pro and Pro-Am drivers alike."

Current leaders in the Pro-Am and Pro Drivers' Standings, Marc A. Hayek and Peter Kox will not compete at Paul Ricard due to a Hayek family bereavement. The #24 Blancpain Reiter Engineering entry is expected to return to the series for the following race weekend in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on 29-31 July 2010.

Von Thurn und Taxis leads the field in round five

LAMBORGHINI CONTINUES ITS POLE-SETTING STREAK

Media information: 20 June 2010

Lamborghini continued to set the pace in the FIA GT3 European Championship by securing its third pole position in as many race weekends as the series travelled to Jarama, Spain, on
19 June 2010. Team Argo Racing driver Albert von Thurn und Taxis set the fastest lap time during Saturday's first qualifying session, guiding the team's #25 Lamborghini Gallardo
LP 560-4 race car around the Spanish race track.

The German driver set the fastest lap time of 1:33.443 during the first qualifying session, edging out championship leader Daniel Keilwitz by 0.250 seconds. From the front row of the grid, von Thurn und Taxis fought for the lead with BMW driver Meyr-Melnhof at the start of race one: Meyr-Melnhof managed to squeeze past him but the Lamborghini driver regained the lead within a lap and began building a comfortable gap from the rest of the field.

At the halfway stage von Thurn und Taxis entered the pits to hand over to team-mate Giorgio Sanna. The Italian rejoined the race but instantly faced heavy pressure from the hard-chasing pack. Sanna defended well but as the battle with Corvette driver and second-place man Christian Hohenadel heated-up, the pair made contact and the Italian driver spun, causing him to fall down the order to finish seventh.

In the second race the Argo Racing duo fought an uphill battle as a technical issue during qualifying caused Sanna to start round six from 23rd place on the grid. At the green light Sanna charged off the line, a strong drive improving the team's position by six places before the pit-stop. Von Thurn und Taxis then took over the #25 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 and managed to climb to 14th place, but an on-track incident caused an unscheduled pit-stop, which meant he finally crossed the finish line 17th.

"The car was at its peak: the track suited it very well!" said von Thurn und Taxis. "Giorgio was unlucky as contact with the Corvette caused him to spin, but the overall the pace was great. I think at Paul Ricard we have the chance to finish on the podium."

Von Thurn und Taxis is currently fifth in the championship with 42 points, with Argo Racing second in the teams' standings with 80 points, trailing the current leaders by just eight points.

Rounds seven and eight of the FIA GT3 European Championship will take place at Paul Ricard HTTT, France, on 3-4 July 2010.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo race cars charge off the
start line at Paul Ricard HTTT

MIK CORSE CHARGE TO TRIPLE WIN

Media information: 5 July 2010

Italian team MIK Corse secured all three victories in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series at Paul Ricard HTTT, France, on 3-4 July 2010. Drivers Fabio Babini and Albert von Thurn und Taxis guided the team's #22 Super Trofeo race car around the French circuit to claim 45 points, elevating MIK Corse from fourth to second in the Teams' Standings.

Also competing at Paul Ricard this weekend was former Ferrari Formula One driver Stefan Johansson, who got behind the wheel of the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car with team-mate Peter Wyss. The pair claimed sixth and fifth-place finishes in rounds seven and nine respectively while a collision in round eight forced them to retire.

Football fans were also catered for as France's former national goalkeeper and 1998 FIFA World Champion Fabien Barthez piloted the #2 Automobili Lamborghini together with French sports car star Anthony Beltoise. The duo secured sixth, seventh and ninth-place finishes during the weekend.

Babini and von Thurn und Taxis top the round seven podium

Qualifying
Jarek Jani? secured his first Super Trofeo pole position during the 30-minute qualifying session on Friday. The Czech driver set the fastest lap time of 2:12.316 in the #77 Charouz-Gravity Racing Super Trofeo entry to put his team-mate Jan Urban on the front row of the grid for round seven.

Mirko Venturi lapped the French circuit in 2:12.500 behind the wheel of the #46 Black Bull Swiss Racing Super Trofeo to put his Italian team-mate Tommaso Maino second on the grid. Behind, German driver von Thurn und Taxis lined up third after team-mate Babini set a fastest lap time of 2:12.631 in the #22 MIK Corse entry, while Jarek Jani?' younger brother Erik set the fourth fastest lap time of 2:12.890 to put team-mate Petr Charouz on the second row for round seven.

Automobili Lamborghini VIP driver Beltoise set the seventh fastest lap time, allowing his team-mate Barthez to make a fourth-row start in the #2 Super Trofeo. Meanwhile, Johansson set the eighth fastest lap time in the #1 Automobili Lamborghini VIP car to put Wyss alongside the #2 car.

"I managed to get a clean run with no traffic so I could get the best out of the car and the tyres," said Jani?. "Tyre pressure is the key to this weekend as it is extremely hot and the track is abrasive. I'm also very happy for my brother Erik, who managed to get the fourth fastest time!"

Round seven
From second on the grid it was Maino in the #46 Black Bull Swiss Racing entry that took the lead, passing Urban before the first corner. However, his lead was short-lived as von Thurn und Taxis in the #22 charged through from third to take the lead by the end of the second lap. Cedric Leimer in the #63 Autovitesse Garage R. Affolter Suisse Super Trofeo had improved his position from sixth to third before a spin put him back to seventh, allowing Italian Pro-Am driver Eugenio Amos to take third.

During the mandatory pit-stop von Thurn und Taxis handed the #22 entry to team-mate Babini, who was back in the lead by lap 12. Venturi was in hot pursuit in the #46, having taken over from team-mate Maino: the Italian soon passed #69 Touringauto driver Amos for second and was catching the leader.

With the clock ticking, Venturi closed in on Babini, reducing the gap by over a second each lap. However, he was unable to catch the Italian before the chequered flag: Babini crossed the line first to claim victory, while Venturi was forced to settle for second place. The #63, piloted by Nicolas Navarro, completed the podium.

"It's a fantastic feeling to be back on the top of the podium," said Babini. "Our strategy in qualifying was not to be on pole but to save the tyres because the track is very abrasive. This strategy really paid off.

"I would like to dedicate this victory to Giorgio Bartocci," continued Babini, referring to his MIK Corse team-mate. "I wish him a fast recovery and hope to see him return to racing."

Babini crosses the finish line to claim the round eight victory

Round eight
Von Thurn und Taxis was on pole in the #22 MIK Corse entry for round eight, but it was Maino that took the lead again in the #46, with the #22 second and the #63 third with Navarro behind the wheel. As von Thurn und Taxis chased the leader he made a mistake, jumping the chicane: the German driver let the #46 back through, with Navarro taking advantage of the situation to pass for second in the #63.

The top three drivers continued to lap the track within a second of each other, with the #63 and #22 continuously looking to pass the car ahead. As the pit window opened with 25 minutes left on the clock, Maino in the #46 entered the pit to hand over to Venturi. In the lead, Navarro pulled away from the field, creating a gap before entering the pit. However, the #63 missed the pit window by 0.266 seconds: his team-mate Cedric Leimer rejoined the field in the lead but was issued with a stop-and-go penalty, putting him back to sixth.

Venturi inherited the lead while Babini in the #22 quickly closed in on the #46: with just one lap remaining Babini was 0.543 seconds behind. As the pair entered the final sequence of corners on the last lap, Babini made a lunge and passed Venturi, crossing the line first to claim the second MIK Corse victory of the weekend. Venturi finished second with Italian
Pro-Am driver Bellini in third.

Second-place finisher Venturi said: "This has been a great start of the weekend for us. It is the first time that Tommaso and I have raced together and second place is a fantastic result. The team is working very hard and the results are coming, we will race to win in the final round."

Round nine
Starting from pole for the final race of the weekend, von Thurn und Taxis maintained his lead as the lights went green, with Eugenio Amos climbing from fourth on the grid to second place in the first lap. By the end of lap five, Automobili Lamborghini VIP driver Anthony Beltoise had improved his seventh-place starting position to third before passing Amos for second on lap six.

During the mandatory pit stop von Thurn und Taxis handed over to team-mate Babini, who was leading the race again by lap 12. Beltoise also pitted to hand over to Fabien Barthez: the #2 rejoined the pack in eighth place.

With five laps remaining, second-place man Amos began reeling in the MIK Corse lead, reducing the gap to 1.328 seconds on the penultimate lap. However, Amos in the Touringauto entry was unable to catch Babini. The #22 MIK Corse entry claimed its third victory of the weekend with Amos second, while the #46 Black Bull Swiss Racing Super Trofeo piloted by Mirko Venturi crossed the line third.

Automobili Lamborghini VIP drivers Stefan Johansson and team-mate Peter Wyss secured a fifth-place finish in the final round of the weekend in the #1 entry, while Beltoise and Barthez claimed a sixth-place finish in the #2 Automobili Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

"I'm blown away," said von Thurn und Taxis. "I'm so happy with this result, three wins in France is just amazing. Super Trofeo made my weekend!"

"The championship is exceeding my expectations: the drivers are very committed to the series," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "The series fits the overall goal of creating a strong relationship with our customers, dealers and racing fans in general."

The next Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race weekend takes place at
Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on 29-31 July 2010, supporting the FIA GT1 World Championship.

The 2010 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo season will debut in April featuring the Lamborghini Super Trofeo: a lightweight version of the Gallardo LP 560-4.

Lamborghini will again partner with luxury Swiss watchmaker Blancpain, who is the series' title sponsor, creating a perfect partnership between two prestigious and highly-innovative brands.

LAMBORGHINI CONTINUES ITS POLE-SETTING STREAK

LAMBORGHINI CONTINUES STRONG GT1 CAMPAIGN in LP640 racer...

Best finish of the season for Peter Kox and Christopher Haase

LAMBORGHINI CONTINUES STRONG GT1 CAMPAIGN

Media information: 31 August 2010

Peter Kox and Christopher Haase raced the #24 Lamborghini Murciélago 670-4 R-SV to a
second-place finish in round six of the FIA GT1 World Championship at the Nürburgring, Germany, on 29 August 2010. Coming off the back of their Spa victory, another strong Reiter Engineering showing means that the Lamborghini-equipped team has moved up to second place in the Teams' Standings.

Former 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Kox and 2009 FIA GT3 European Champion Haase set the second fastest lap time of 1:57.596 in Saturday's qualifying, while the All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport duo of Nicky Pastorelli and Dominik Schwager recorded the third fastest lap time of 1:57.858 in the #38 Lamborghini Murciélago 670-4 R-SV. Round five race winners Ricardo Zonta and Frank Kechele qualified the #25 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini on the fourth row of the grid.

In the Qualifying Race, German driver Haase started behind the wheel of the #24 before handing over to Dutch pilot Kox in fourth. As rain started falling in the second half of the race, Kox pitted again for wet tyres and improved one place after the pit-stop re-shuffle to complete the hour-long Qualifying Race in third. Kechele in the #25 Lamborghini moved up to sixth on the first lap and held his position until it was former Formula One driver Zonta's time to attack. The Brazilian pilot charged to a strong fourth-place finish, crossing the line behind the #24 Lamborghini entry.

Kox started Sunday's Championship Race from third on the grid and spent most of his stint battling for second place with the #13 Corvette of Marc Hennerici. The Dutch driver stayed out longer than the Corvette and a quick final lap from Kox, combined with a flawless pit-stop from the Reiter Engineering team, meant that the Lamborghini returned to the track in second with Haase at the wheel. Hennerici's team-mate Alexander Margaritis kept pressuring Haase but the German Lamborghini driver defended well all the way to the chequered flag, finishing second and collecting 18 championship points.

"Second place is a good achievement: the Lamborghini is getting stronger and stronger with each race," said Kox. "We had a good starting position. The first corner is always tricky at the Nürburgring but we managed it well and stayed behind the leaders. The team did an excellent job in the pits which gave us the second place and then Christopher took over and had a fantastic stint."

Following their superb victory at Spa, Zonta and Kechele had 40 kg of success ballast added to their #25 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini for Sunday's Championship Race. The extra weight meant a significant disadvantage in the up-and-downs of the Nürburgring but the Reiter Engineering duo tried their best to battle in the highly competitive field, eventually crossing the line in 14th place.

In the FIA GT1 World Teams' Championship, Reiter Engineering has moved up to second place with 95 points, while Lamborghini has stepped up to third in the SRO Trophy for Manufacturers with 97 points.

Round 11 and 12 of the ADAC GT Masters also took place at the Nürburgring, where Kox and
team-mate Albert von Thurn und Taxis competed in the #24 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4. Fresh from their double victory at the Lausitzring two weeks ago, Kox dominated qualifying by setting three fastest laps in a row to record the best lap time of 2:01.433, allowing the Dutch driver to start round 12 from pole. Meanwhile, German driver von Thurn und Taxis qualified the #24 on the fourth row for round 11.

The championship-leading Reiter Engineering duo faced an uphill struggle in the races as they had the maximum success ballast of 50 kg. In round 11, bad luck caught up with Kox, who was forced to retire early after a collision with the Audi of Bernd Herndlhofer, leaving the Reiter Engineering pair without any points for the first time this season. In round 12, Kox started from fifth following a five-place grid demotion handed out after the crash in the first race. Despite the success ballast, the Lamborghini pair defended well to maintain their position until the chequered flag.

Kox and von Thurn und Taxis continue to lead in the Drivers' Championship with 67 points, nine points ahead of their closest challengers. In the Teams' Championship, Reiter Engineering is second on 69 points, seven points behind Abt Sportline. With 20 points still up for grabs at the final two rounds, both titles will be decided at the season finale in five weeks time.

Round seven of the FIA GT1 World Championship will take place at Autódromo Internacional Algarve, Portugal, on 17-19 September 2010, while the final rounds of the ADAC GT Masters season will be held at Oschersleben, Germany, on 2-3 October 2010.
